Notices This Week
Church Members’ Meeting
There is a meeting for all church members this Wednesday 16th May at 8pm. Copies of the minutes of the last meeting and the agenda for this meeting are being distributed today. Please make sure you get yours. |
Gift and Thanksgiving Day
Today is our Thanksgiving and Gift Day. This is a great opportunity to consider all that God has done for us in the past 12 months, and bring our gifts for His work to say “Thank You”. |
KWF – Gardening Special!
Knaphill Women’s Fellowship invites all gardeners to hear Derek Dexter speak about Fuchsias at their meeting on Tuesday 29th May. He is an expert on Fuchsias; a medal winner at big shows and as well as speaking, he will have plants to sell. All welcome, and bring your friends. Tea is served at 2:45pm for a 3pm start. |
Evening Services
The Methodist Baptist and Anglican churches of Knaphill and Brookwood have agreed to share and invite each other to their respective Sunday Evening services. Each church will now hold just one service a month as follows, and you are invited to join as a when you wish.
- 1st Sunday of the month – Baptist Church
- 2nd – Holy Trinity
- 3rd – St Saviours
- 4th – Methodist Church
Where a 5th Sunday occurs, there will be no service anywhere. Please note that following their Baptismal Service in KBC, Holy Trinity’s Evening Service this week will be a service of confirmation for the baptised (and other) candidate – to which all are welcome. |
Thanks
Pam Rice would like to express her thanks for all the support, love and prayers she and Thelma received following her accident on holiday. |
Mission Boxes
Please pass your mission boxes (or their contents, to Eileen Byde so that the funds can be sent off and put into use!
If you would like to start holding a box for Home Mission or BMS World Mission, please speak to Eileen. It’s a great place to put your small (or large) change! |
Parents and Toddlers
Please pray for the Parents and Toddlers Group. We have lost a couple of parents recently as their little ones have started other activities on a Tuesday morning and we are coming up to the summer when we always lose some of our older children as they go off to nursery and school. We need to reach the “next generation” and have placed an advert on the Village Noticeboard. Please pray that our numbers increase before the summer. |
Summer Newletter
Please pass all newsletter items for the summer edition to Derek as soon as possible. |
You’ve Got The Time
If you would like to start listening to the Bible Society recording of the New Testament, or know somebody else who would, there are some further listeners now available. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can download the MP3 tracks from the Bible Society web-site at www.biblesociety.org.uk/audio/ygtt/ygtt.xml.
Please don’t forget the Treasurer’s Challenge. If you’ve been blessed by listening to the Good News, then we hope you will want to contribute to a donation to the Bible Society at the end of the programme to provide listeners for towns and villages in Africa. If Each felt able to give £1.00 a day, we would currently raise in excess of £1,500! Why don’t you put something aside each day?
We will celebrate the work of the Bible Society on June 10th (just after the 40 day programme finished because of Pentecost and Half Term) when you will able to bring your gifts. |
The Bible Society invites you to their “Guildford Vision Event” for all who support the work of the Bible Society.
Saturday 26th May 2012, 10.30am – 12.30 pm at Emmanuel Church, Shepherds Lane, Stoughton, Guildford, GU2 9SJ.
RSVP by Friday 18th May to 01793 418222, or contactus@biblesociety.org.uk |
Summer Holiday Club
24th – 27th July
Thank you to everyone who came to our first get-together last Thursday when we were able to share some great ideas for this year’s Holiday Club – it was a great turn-out. Ruth will be producing some Notes from the meeting so don’t worry if you weren’t able to be there. Unfortunately the Notes aren’t quite ready to distribute today but Ruth will circulate either paper copies or, where possible, by e-mail as soon as she can.
It’s not too late to get involved – the Holiday Club week is great fun but can only happen if we have a strong team running it and we would love you to be part of the team this year! |
Summer Fayres
Planning has started for the church’s attendance at the three summer Fayres. Please note the dates:
- Schools PTA – Saturday 16th June
- Bisley Strawberry Fayre – Sunday 24th June
- Knaphill Village Show – Saturday 14th July.
Please speak to one of the Deacons about how you can help! |
